Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce

Ingredients

  • Chinese broccoli (usually found at Asian restaurants), though any firm vegetable (such as conventional broccoli or cauliflower) would work
  • 4 cloves minced garlic
  • 2 tbsp Oyster sauce
  • 2 tbsp high heat oil, such as vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Blanch the Chinese broccoli, then plate it.
  2. In a pan, heat up the the oil to medium, then add the garlic to extract the aromatic flavor.
  3. Add the oyster sauce and stir.
  4. Pour the sauce mixture over the Chinese broccoli and serve.

Tips

Since Chinese broccoli usually comes with a stem part and a leafy part, which cook at different rates, I usually start blanching the stem part a bit sooner since it’ll take a bit longer to cook.
