Crepes

Ingredients

Crepes share many of the same ingredients as pancakes. One of the most notable differences is there’s no rising agent in crepes like there might be in pancakes, such as baking powder.

  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1.5 cups milk
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • butter

Instructions

  1. Combine the flour, eggs, milk, sugar, and salt in a mixing bowl, and stir until all the ingredients are combined to form the crepe batter.

  2. Heat up a pan on the stove on low to medium heat.

  3. Butter up the pan. Make sure the whole surface is properly coated.

  4. Pour on some batter and spread it around by lifting and rotating the pan. This should be enough batter to make a 2 millimeter thin crepe. Cook until the crepe is lightly browned. You can check the color by lifting the edge with a spatula and taking a peek.

  5. Once the crepe has mostly set, work a spatula between the crepe and the pan, and flip it over to cook the other side.

  6. Cook the other side of the crepe briefly until it’s lightly browned, and transfer the crepe to a plate for serving.

  7. Repeat until all the crepe batter is used up.

Tips

  • Keep it thin.
