Hot Dog and Burger Buns
Ingredients
Water, 1 cup (227 grams)
Butter, 2 tbsp (28 grams)
1 egg
All-purpose flour, 3.5 cups (418 grams)
Sugar, .25 cup (50 grams)
Salt, 1.25 tsp
Yeast, 1 tbsp
Egg wash of egg, water, salt (optional)
Instructions
Mix and knead all ingredients.
Cover and rise for 1-2 hours.
Divide into 8 even balls, flatten gently to 3 inch diameter for burger buns or into 1 inch thick cylindrical shape for hot dog rolls.
Rest on covered baking sheet until the dough doubles.
Bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 15-18 minutes until golden.
