Spicy Beef Over Noodles

This dish uses a bunch of ingredients come to a number of Szechuan recipes.


  • Plain Chinese noodles

  • Dou Ban Jiang (fermented been paste), 1 tbsp

  • Ground beef (80-85%), 1 pound

  • Soy sauce, 1 tsp

  • Dark soy sauce, 1 tsp

  • Sugar, 1 tsp

  • Garlic and ginger, minced, 1 tsp


  1. Boil some water and cook the noodles to instructions.

  2. Drain and rinse the noodles, then place it in a bowl.

  3. Heat up a wok, add some oil, and cook down the ground beef until no longer pink.

  4. Add the garlic and ginger, cook for about 30 seconds.

  5. Toss in the dou ban jian, soy sauces, sugar, stir and mix. Cook for about a minute.

  6. Top noodles with the cooked beef mix. Garnish with scallions and serve.
