Chili Oil


  • Lots of red chili peppers

  • Equal part of sesame seeds

  • Salt

  • Vegetable oil


  1. In a dry pan, toss in the red chili peppers and roast.

  2. In a mortar and pestle, crush the chilis into powder.

  3. Add the crushed chili, sesame, and salt to a durable container.

  4. Heat the oil to about 450 degrees Fahrenheit. Super hot.

  5. Pour it over the chilis and powder. Let it rest and cool and set it aside for use.


  • Make sure to only pour the oil into very heat-resistant containers. You don’t want the container to crack.

  • I don’t strain my oil, I like the bits.
